OUR PILOT PROGRAM

In 2018, we joined forces with 10 local businesses to divert 24,672 pounds of compostable food scraps from the Springfield landfill.

The pilot program helped divert waste that would have otherwise gone to the landfill. Instead, we picked up the scraps from local business and turned the food scraps into USABLE COMPOST for community gardens. This compost was used in the Tom Watkins Springfield Community Garden.
