Our mission is to create mindfulness around food waste and the recycling process via composting and soil education.
We want to bring the community together
We do this by becoming more aware of where our food waste is going and the impact it has on our environment. We are focused on food-waste awareness through educational workshops, employment opportunities, the production of compost, and community outreach.
We primarily seek to create awareness and educate, secondarily to collect food scraps from local businesses and residents, and thirdly to convert these materials into nutrient rich soil to provide more food for our community. This interaction engages all peoples to consider one’s resource and waste footprint within greater society.
-Building mindful waste management
Overall, our organization will serve as an organic material waste diversion service. We look to enrich the local food production scene with methods for creating one’s own compost, as well as expand the term ‘recycling’ to consider organic matter as a notable area of concern. We look to stimulate a city-wide composting program into fruition for the Springfield area.
